My name is Aj and I bring here news of an anime event running this Friday, in Garema Place (Civic), for people who haven't yet heard. It's already been mentioned once in this here community, but I thought I'd verify some details.
Volunteers from the ANU Anime Society are running a free screening of Japanese animation in the heart of Canberra's CBD - Garema Place.
The screening will take place on Garema Place's prominently positioned glass fibre cinema screen. Not only is this screen very well placed, it is also an architectural beauty: it won the Royal Australian Institute of Architects (RAIA) Art and Architecture Award in 2000 as well as the NAWIC Achievement in Design Award in 2001.
The screening will commence on Friday, April 7th, from 6pm to 10pm. The screening will focus on first episodes as well as short films from a number of recently released Japanese animation titles so that people can come to the screening at virtually any time and enjoy themselves. There will also be DVD, poster and merchandise giveaways on site.
